"Wherein Was the Strength?" is an allegory about an Indian king who observes his weakest laborer, Hasan, happily carrying the heaviest stones with superhuman strength . A wise vizier discovers Hasan's secret is not physical power but the profound joy and love he shares with his wife and child . To test this, the king, who only understands fear, seizes the family, and the next day Hasan returns to work utterly broken and powerless.
