“In a Grove” is a story by a Japanese writer Ryunosuke Akutagawa. He is regarded as the “Father of the Japanese short story”. It presents three varying accounts of the murder of a samurai, Kanazawa no Takehiro, whose corpse has been found in a bamboo forest near Kyoto.
