“His Last Bow” is one of 56 short stories about Sherlock Holmes written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The story is the last chronological instalment of the series. It is the eve of the First World War. Holmes is long retired from his profession of detective but is still alive and well, albeit suffering from a touch of rheumatism.
