“Princess Rokunomiya” is a story by Japanese writer Ryūnosuke Akutagawa. He is regarded as the “Father of the Japanese short story”. The father of the princess in Rokunomiya came from an old royal family. Her parents didn’t seek out anyone to marry their daughter. They waited and waited to see if someone would offer to marry her.
