As in the tales of other nations, in the Turkmen tale three types should be distinguished: tales of animals, fairy tales, domestic tales. A feature of Turkmen fairy tales is a huge number of dialogues and direct speech. Some tales are almost entirely built on dialogue. Sometimes a fairy tale is accompanied by unpretentious poetic passages. The language of fairy tales is for the most part simple.
