The Forsyte Saga: The White Monkey
“The Forsyte Saga” is a series of three novels and two interludes published between 1906 and 1921 by the English author John Galsworthy, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature. The Saga records the lives of three generations of a moneyed middle-class English family at the turn of the century. Galsworthy's masterly narrates not only their fortunes but also the wider developments within society, particularly the changing position of women. “The White Monkey” is the first novel in John Galsworthy's second Forsyte trilogy, entitled A Modern Comedy, and is the fourth book of nine.
