The Diary of a Cross-Stealer
"The Diary of a Cross-Stealer" is an 1890 novel by the Armenian novelist Raffi. The novel is written in the form of a diary of Murad, who, being a student blacksmith, fell under the influence of the false priest of the Armenian Church, Petros, and became, like him, a cross-stealer. During his life, Murad went from being involved in a criminal group of cross-stealers to salvation. Having trusted Petros, he quit his job and left his family, studied all the basics of mastering crime, felt the betrayal of his tutor, after which he repented, improved and found his love - the gypsy Nene.
