Namus (Honor)

“Namus” (Honor) is a novel by Alexander Shirvanzade, published in 1885. The novel describes the May earthquake in Shamakh in 1859, the social-psychological atmosphere of the provincial town, backward environment and mores. It also depicts the ruined and unfinished love story of Seyran and Susan, a young couple who became victims of society.
