“Immensee” is a novella by German author Theodor Storm, published in the middle of the 19th century. The protagonists Reinhard Werner and Elisabeth have been close friends from early childhood. Reinhard, who is five years older than Elisabeth, is in love with her and is sure that he wants to spend his whole life with Elisabeth.
