On the slope of Mount Ayu

"On the slope of Mount Ayu" is one of the short stories of the Armenian writer Aksel Bakunts, included in the collection "Mtnadzor", published in 1927.

The story depicts a village in Zangezur, probably Yerishen, in 1914-1918, and the city where the main character Peti "was once", Goris. Peti had a prototype, and the story-prehistory. The story describes the events related to the epidemic of cattle that broke out in Zangezur in 1904-05, and the terrible war that took Peti's life.
