The story unfolds in a writer’s study against the backdrop of everyday urban life in the early twentieth century. The narrator tries to work, but his life changes when an ordinary fly appears in the room. Daily clashes with the tiny insect gradually turn into an unlikely friendship, revealing subtle shades of loneliness, attachment, and human self-deception. With humor and gentle irony, the author shows how even the most insignificant encounter can bring meaning and feeling to everyday life.
