On the streets and in the theatre of late nineteenth-century Christiania, a man's attention is drawn to a mysterious woman with an unblinking, troubled gaze. Her behaviour seems unpredictable, and her words are at times contradictory. A story about a child gives rise to a tension that blurs the line between reality and delirium. Their encounters reveal the pain of loneliness, loss, and going unheard, while leaving unanswered the question of how far one can trust what one sees and hears.
