The present miniatures and literary sketches are included in the fourth volume of The Collected Works of Derenik Demirchyan. Derenik Karapetovich Demirchyan (1877–1956) was an Armenian writer, publicist, poet, prose author, dramatist, and translator. He was elected a full member of the Academy of Sciences of the Armenian SSR (1953), awarded the title of Honored Art Worker of the Armenian SSR (1940), and was a member of the Union of Soviet Writers from 1934.
