Mkrtich Armen's "The Magic Castle" tells the story of prisoner Bukov, who perceives the new camp's surroundings, including the camp fortress, as a fairy tale world from his childhood. When tasked with fetching water, he finds a small, locked door leading to a magical meadow and a castle. There he meets a beautiful woman, the embodiment of the fairy tale, but they are separated by the forbidden boundary of a narrow stream. Emotionally moved, Bukov returns, symbolically locking the fairy tale behind him with a rusty key.
