This handbook is intended for teachers of public education schools of the Republic of Armenia, as well as for other interested professionals who seek to effectively organize and manage project-based learning with their students. The handbook provides a structured and comprehensive presentation of project-based learning and related topics, following the logical sequence of project phases.
The handbook includes theoretical definitions, practical tools, examples of localized projects for educational institutions in the Republic of Armenia, posters, illustrations, blank and completed templates, translated methodological guidelines, and a curated list of educational project topics.
The content addresses systems thinking and design thinking; definitions, stages, and limitations of projects and project-based learning; the Gold Standard of project-based learning with all its components; Scrum and traditional approaches to organizing and managing project-based learning; stage-by-stage documentation; funding mechanisms; collaboration with external stakeholders; the transition from group work to team-based work; assessment practices; digital tools; and other relevant topics.
The handbook serves as a comprehensive “toolkit” for both novice and experienced practitioners of project-based learning, enabling them to select and apply appropriate tools and methods as needed.
We express our sincere gratitude to the Organization and Management of Project-Based Learning team for granting permission to make the electronic version of this handbook freely available on our website.
