Armenia in the early twentieth century is living through national catastrophe and revolutionary upheaval. The young Yeghishe Charents struggles to understand the fate of his people, their historical defeats, inner divisions, and will to survive. In an imagined dialogue with Grigor Narekatsi, past and present, faith and doubt, sacrifice and the desire to live come into conflict. The story reflects on national memory, responsibility, and the possibility of a future.
