In postwar Warsaw’s Wola district, amid ruins and everyday hardships, Chek and his friends find in football a way to come together and believe in themselves. With Coach Stefanek’s support, they learn to play as a team, but also to be honest, responsible, and loyal friends. Joy and the spirit of competition intertwine with the dangers of the streets in the boys’ lives, while their choices show how friendship and caring for one another can help them grow up.
