Image

1914, the Caucasus Front during the First World War. A group of Armenian public figures, including Hovhannes Tumanyan, travels from Tiflis through Echmiadzin, Igdir, Bayazid and Alashkert. Along the way they encounter soldiers and volunteers, refugees, devastated villages and the people of the borderlands. War is viewed through everyday human experience, revealing suffering, uncertainty, moral choices and the difficult realities faced by communities caught between armies and political change.
